It is nice to live in Houston during the winter

As you could guess from the title, I visited a very cold Ohio recently. Mike Toneff got me a ticket to the OSU-Michigan game and I couldn't pass it up. I was able to hang out with everyone still in the area, including Timbo who got a surprise ticket to the game. The pictures for the OSU-Michigan game are PG-13, so put the little ones to bed before viewing! I also posted here a recent trip Jess and I took with our friends Frank and Sandy to Texas wine county. I have never been to other wineries, like California, but I was overall impressed with Texas wineries. I was very surprised how each winery had a different feel/ mood. Jess is back to "hunker down" (google it if you don't know what it means) study mode, so that leaves me to pull out all the Christmas decorations. I hope everyone has a good thanksgiving. I know I am already thankful that Michigan is that bad.

Busy Past Few Months

Jess and I had a busy past couple months with Jess in Med School and my never ending work. The past couple months included: I went up to the OSU vs. OU game, hurricane Ike hit, I went to Cold Spring Harbor, and Jess went to visit our new nephew Matt. Since a picture says a thousand words, I leave you to enjoy our latest novel.

White Coat Ceremony

Jess had her white coat ceremony last week for med school. The Cook's flew down and my parents drove in for the event. Attached is a link for pictures from the event. On Sunday morning we found out that baby Brueggemeier was on his way, so the Cook's took off for New Jersey. Matthew Ryan was born at 6:45 ET, weighing in at 6 lbs 4 oz and stretching to 19.5 inches.

Breaking News!

Jess and I have been extremely busy lately. Jess went up to Kansas for two weeks to help her boss move her lab. While she was up there, Esprit and I went to one of my high school friends weddings. In addition, Jess got a call from UT Houston and found out that she got into med school for this year. She was able to come up a day early from Kansas to beat the tropical storm in to Houston, and then we left the next day for Ohio. In Ohio, Jess and I visited with my grandparents and with friends. On Saturday we took part in Tim and Kate's wedding. Attached here you will find pictures for all of these outings. More to follow soon, including Jess's white coat ceremony!

First Anniversary

Jess and I celebrated out first anniversary earlier this month. A woman that Jess works with gave her a two free night coupon for a hotel downtown which she had won in a raffle. Minute maid park was 3 blocks down and the Cubs were coming into town that night. In addition, it was Baylor night so we got great seats at a discount price. The next morning one of my friends, Jerry, who does a little bit of professional photography took anniversary pictures of us (not shown here). On Saturday we also went to the Saint Arnold Brewery for "open bar" and over to the Galleria for some shopping. Afterwards we went downtown for a nice dinner at an Italian restaurant. Sunday we went to go see the new batman movie. Check out the pictures here.

Update

Jess and I have been busy for the past month or so. We had our first friend visit, Adam, and made a trip up to New Jersey and New York. My camera got busted on the New York trip so there are no more pictures until it is fixed. Attached are the links for the two events.

Tim: The Hero of Time

After much help from Tim, downloading a program, and purchasing a USB SD card reader I was able to recover most of the pictures from the Huntsville State Park trip.

Since I was feeling kinda down from the lost picture fiasco on Sunday Jess and I decided to head down to Surfside beach with some friends. I did not partake in the beer festivities because of the margarita wake the night before, but we did enjoy some horseshoes.
